Materials Buyer
Due to retirement we have an immediate vacancy for a Materials Buyer to join our Purchasing team and help maintain an effective supply chain, reporting directly to the Supply Chain Manager.
Main duties will include:
- Raising purchase orders for raw materials and services used in the manufacture of components.
- Matching delivery notes and supplier invoices.
- Attending daily meetings to ensure purchase due dates meet our production and customer requirements.
- Work closely with stores areas to ensure agreed levels of material stocks are maintained in-house and at suppliers.
- Negotiating the best possible prices and services levels.
- Provide an effective service to the Sales Dept for estimating new contracts.
Key skills and experience:
- Ideally you will have experience in a purchasing role within a manufacturing company or similar, such as metal finishing or metal stockist / supplier.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Good attention to detail.
- Strong general computer literacy and working knowledge of “MS Office”.
- Flexible and adaptable within a fast-paced industry.
- Strong team player.
This is a full-time position of 39 hours per week, based in Hythe, Kent. You will receive a competitive salary with additional benefits and inclusion in the company performance & profit bonus scheme.
